Redundant power supply

Racks come with a dual power supply (two power feeds) in your rack as standard. Should one of these feeds fail, the entire power supply you need runs through the other feed, ensuring that your power supply continues uninterrupted. Your equipment will not be affected in any way.

Connection

It is therefore essential to connect your individual equipment to both the A power supply and the B power supply. If your equipment does not have that capability, you can use an automatic switching system (ATS).
In your portal, you can monitor the actual power consumption. This will be charged on a consumption basis. The standard monthly charge is 1 kW ( 833 kWh).

Converting watts to amps

Amps is the number of watts divided by volts.
An example: an appliance uses 1440 watts. You divide this by volts, usually 220. The number of amps is therefore 6.

Example calculation

On average, a server consumes 250 to 275 W per hour

Per day: 275 W x 24 hours = 6,600 Wh = 6.6 kWh/day

Sample calculation of max. load per rack

16 (amp) x 230 (volt) = 3,680 W

32 (amp) x 230 (volt) = 7,360 W

How secure is the power supply?

We guarantee a permanent power supply. The UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) and the emergency generator exclude power interruption. There are two power circuits in the data centre. If one fails, your equipment will remain powered. In case of a prolonged power failure, the system automatically switches to the emergency power generator. This is regularly tested by our maintenance team. We have 16 hours of fuel in stock for the genset as standard and this is replenished if necessary.
